Hello, and Welcome to the Revolution.

I am glad you have found the site, through whatever means. We, the staff, hope you will become active members and contributors, and help our community grow by spreading the word to friends.

And here's a little "About Me" so that you feel like you already have one familiar face:

History

-Late 2002: I joined Deck Guru (what this site was called before it became Deck Revolution) as a noob with a Yugi deck.
-Sept. 2003: Deck Revolution and Revolution Boards open. I am still a noob with a Yugi deck, but switch to disruption over the next few months with the help of these forums.
-Feb. 2004: I become a featured columnist, expanding on underrated single cards for the meta, in a column called "Unseen Skill." It is also around this time (or whenever Magician's Force came out) that I became a dedicated spellcaster player.
-Early 2005: When the site re-opens after being hacked, I become the FAQ Admin and a halfmod on the forums, while still maintaining Unseen Skill.
-August 2005: I relinquish Unseen Skill to another staff member, maintaining the FAQ full time. I am also promoted to full moderator.
-June 2006: I am promoted to Horseman (i.e. a super/global moderator).
-August 2006: I pass on the FAQ and open up the Mystic Box, a deck garage for underdog deck building and analysis.
-October 2006: I am promoted to admin, and become the acting admin on the site until...
-December 2006: Our data tables break, and we have the long and difficult task of restarting the entire network.
-January 2007: Deck Revolution is reborn, and I have become the full time Webmaster.
-Majority of 2007: Apocalypse (the owner) becomes too busy to run the site at all but leaves no one with the ability to maintain the site with coding access. The site begins a steep spiral downward that only gets steeper, courtesy of an onslaught of bot users and a constantly shifting staff hierarchy.
-February 2008: The site is closed, having lost most of its members, and to stop the bot registrations.
-March 2008: Apocalypse gives me full access to the files, making me the actual webmaster, and I get the site back into "working" order
-June 2009: The bots finally figure out a way around security, and given the unfortunately low amount of activity we are getting, I close down the site.
-September 2009: Apocalypse and I upgrade the forum system to phpbb3, opening up hundreds of easier tasks for maintaining the site and keeping unwanted visitors out, which brings us up to the present!

Present

I am a 21 year old college student, so I might be older than some of you, but I am hardly the imposing figure that the title of "Webmaster" so oddly implies. If ever any of you have a question or a concern about anything on the site, you can feel free to contact me via Private Message, email, or AIM. I want everyone on this site to be able to contact me, even if its just for friendly chat. Don't think that because I run the site and I'm in college, I am perpetually busy and you shouldn't bother me. While I am pretty busy all the time, haha, if I am on AIM, I am completely available to talk.

Anyway, that's all for me. I hope I have offered some insight into what this site is about, and myself. If you have any other questions about me, feel free to post them here in this topic, I am happy to answer them. I look forward to working with you all at some point or another. Thanks for hearing me out.

-DM
